Dubai: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who has been appointed as the new chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) after the assassination of his mother Benazir Bhutto, left for UK yesterday to resume his studies at Oxford.
Bilawal left Dubai after meeting his father Asif Ali Zardari, who arrived here from Karachi early yesterday to meet his son and other children.
Zardari, who is now co-chairman of the PPP, travelled to Pakistan on the day of Bhutto's murder after a rally in Rawalpindi on December 27. The couple's children Bilawal, 19, Bakhtawar, 17 and Asifa 14, came to Dubai on January 1 after attending the funeral of their mother in Larkana, the hometown of the Bhuttos.
Since his arrival in Dubai, Bilawal had been busy receiving condolences from PPP supporters and hundreds of other residents who visited the family's Emirates Hills residence.
Black belt
Bilawal is studying at the Christ Church College in Oxford and will complete his studies before entering Pakistani politics to spearhead the PPP.
He holds a black belt in Taekwondo and also likes to play cricket in addition shooting and horse-riding.
He was born in September 1988, a month before his slain mother was elected prime minister of Pakistan for the first time.
