Geneva: Talks between Russia and Georgia over two breakaway Georgian regions have been suspended until next month after "procedural difficulties", the European Union's special envoy for Georgia said on Wednesday.

Pierre Morel told reporters the unspecified difficulties had forced the parties to break off talks planned for Wednesday afternoon, but new consultations had been provisionally set for Nov. 19 between the countries, which fought a war in August.

Earlier, Georgia's president accused Russia of walking out of the talks.
