Scores of vehicles joined a gaily decorated cavalcade to the Ajman Emiri Court yesterday to celebrate the 20th accession anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman. The motorcade, which was headed by the Sharjah Police band was received by His Highness Sheikh Humaid and Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince of Ajman. Pupils of the Ajman Education Zone who joined the procession greeted Sheikh Humaid and Sheikh Ammar and presented them with bouquets of flowers. Dancers swayed to the beat of drums and rose petals were showered on the convoy.
Ajman has scored the highest economic growth in the UAE and, with 20 factories, ranks third in industry. It has also undergone significant urban development and has been diversifying its industries, due to the wise leadership of Sheikh Humaid. The event was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of Ajman Economic Department, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of Culture and Information Department, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Students Council and Sheikh Majid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Minister of State for Supreme Council Affairs and Chairman of the Emiri Court. Meanwhile, according to a WAM report, Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ajman Crown Prince, has issued a decision exempting citizens in the emirate from defaulted fees on trading licences on the occasion of the celebrations of the Ruler of Ajman's 20th accession anniversary. Ali bin Abdullah Al Hamrani, Director General of Ajman's Municipality, said that the decision, valid for one week, will be implemented with effect from Saturday.
