More than 90,000 fans attend Saber's concert

Saber Roubahi, an elegant and romantic Tunisian singer, boasts fans all around the Arab world and more than 90,000 of them attended his concert in Morocco recently.

Roubahi is currently recording his new album in Cairo.

The album will also contain at least one song in the Gulf dialect. The singer has just renewed his contract with Rotana Production Company for three years.

Mum's the word

Lebanese singer Amal Hijazi announced recently during a TV show that she is expecting her first baby.

Hijazi, who got married at the end of the summer, said she doesn't know if she is carrying a boy or a girl, adding that she is having real hard time choosing a name for the baby.

The songstress, who started to reduce her professional activity since she got married to a jeweller, will still shoot two music videos before the end of the year. She then plans to rest in order to prepare for motherhood.

Kfouri in Melody

Lebanese singer Wael Kfouri was angry when he left Rotana at the beginning of 2008. And then he calmed down and started studying several contracts.

Now it seems he chose to sign a contract with Melody Production for five years and three albums.

Kfouri and the company are still very discreet about the contract, and it hasn't been announced what amount changed hands. Rumours have it this will be announced sometime this month.

Haifa loves Santa

Haifa Wehbe, who is shooting her first movie, Dikan Shehata, was recently a guest on Al Arabiya TV.

When asked about the political situation in Lebanon and the politician she prefers, the siren replied, "My favourite public figure is Santa Claus because he distributes gifts to everybody giving happiness and hope to the world."

Wehbe also said that she doesn't support any political party, nor is she in love with any politician in the country.

She's a jealous girl

Lebanese singer Najwa Karam confessed that she is jealous when she is in a relationship. Furthermore, she cannot bear unfaithfulness.

Karam affirmed that she has "never [been] betrayed in love".

"I can forgive many things in life, but not betrayal", she explained. She also said, "A bit of jealousy is necessary in order to keep a relationship going."

Talking about her behaviour in a relationship, Karam said that she is very faithful and that she doesn't put pressure on her significant other. "If a woman is selfish in love, she will inevitably loose her partner," she said.

Dominique home and away

A month ago, Lebanese singer and model Dominique Hourani recently returned to Beirut.

Hourani got married to a European millionaire of Iranian origin a year ago. She gave birth last summer to a baby girl she named Delarasso, after her mother-in-law.

Hourani spends a lot of her time with her daughter, but wants to return to her singing career. "Some people think that female artists put an end to their careers once they get married. This is not my case," she said. "Even if my daughter has a nanny, I decided to take care of the baby girl, especially when Delarasso and I are in Lebanon."

The songstress said that in the months to come she will be spending her time between Lebanon and Austria where her husband lives and works.

She also announced that an international producer has decided to film the story of her life. "People are going to cry, because the film tells the story of a Middle Eastern good looking girl who has faced a lot of suffering," she said, without divulging details on this hardship.

Coming from a middle class family - her father is a historian and her mother a housewife - Hourani speaks perfect Arabic, French and English.

She has a diploma in business administration from a private university in Beirut, spent a lot of time between Milan and the French Riviera as a model and met her husband – who is madly in love with her – in Monaco.

Hourani’s life sure has all the elements of a sad story...
