Feline friends: Cats for adoption
Feline Friends is a voluntary organisation that offers help for abandoned cats and kittens. All cats are vaccinated and are neutered as breeding is not advocated.
A donation to cover veterinary costs would be appreciated. Contact: in Dubai 050-4510058, in Abu Dhabi: 050-8231569. In Al Ain: alainfelinefriends@yahoo.ca
Below are just a small selection of Feline Friends cats. For details call voice mail numbers. Being run by a group of volunteers, your calls will be answered quickly. Calls for adoption from adults only. Visit Feline Friends online at www.felinefriendsuae.com or email felinefriendsdubai@yahoo.co.uk
BOBBY is a lovely black and white male, with beautiful silky fur. We are not sure of his exact age, although we think he is still quite young. He is sociable and enjoys nothing more than a good chat. He loves to play. Bobby is used to living in an apartment but would prefer a villa with access to the outdoors. He would fit in to a busy family home really well, as he loves to be around people and soak up the atmosphere. He is sterilised, litter trained and vaccinated.
Reusable shopping bags
Feline Friends has high-quality, reusable shopping bags for sale which will help eliminate hundreds, if not thousands, of those plastic and paper shopping bags choking our planet. It is an easy way to do your part for just Dh20. The bags are available for purchase at major veterinary clinics throughout Dubai, or at upcoming Feline Friends events. If you are able to help support us by offering other distribution outlets for these bags in Dubai please contact our enquiry line on 050-4510058.
Traps desperately needed
One of Feline Friends's primary goals is to trap, neuter and release as many stray cats in Dubai as possible. To help us achieve this goal, we are in the process of importing a large number of light metal collapsible cat traps into Dubai. We still need to raise another Dh9,000 in order to reach our target.
An individual trap costs Dh300. If you can help by sponsoring the purchase of a trap, either as an individual or an organisation, please call our enquiry line on 050-4510058. VOLUNTEERS DESPERATELY NEEDED
We have a special plea for volunteers. There are many ways that people can help - through special fund raising events, emails, trapping and releasing, assisting with open adoption days, fostering and many more ways. Please call the enquiry line on 050-4510058. FELINE FRIENDS 2009 CALENDAR
Could your cat be one of the 12 pin ups in next year's calendar?
Would you like to help out with the production of the 2009 calendar? We are also looking for sponsors. Would your company be interested in having their name and logo in our calendar for a donation towards costs? Are you an artist? We need some design work doing for one of the pages. For more information, please phone Agathe on 050-5517780.
Sponsor a spay
If you are interested in donating money towards a dog's or a cat's sterilisation, please call 050-6258375. We always have dogs and cats that need sterilising. Every little bit helps.
