Modhesh Fun City hosted the premiere of the famous animated series Ben 10 as hundreds of children gathered to get a glimpse of the adventurous cartoon hero
Modhesh Fun City gave visitors another taste of adventure when it hosted the world premiere of a show based on the well-known animated television series, Ben 10 recently.
The free Ben 10 Alien Power show was part of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2008 activities.
Extremely popular with children on the Cartoon Network, Ben 10 revolves around Ben Tennyson, his cousin Gwen, and their grandfather Max.
During a summer camping trip Ben finds an alien device known as the "Omnitrix", which gives him the ability to transform into different alien life-forms.
Laila Suhail, CEO of Dubai Shopping Festival Office says, "By hosting the world premiere stage show of Ben 10, Modhesh Fun City has once again proved its ability to attract world-class entertainment during DSS 2008.
"Shows such as Ben 10 that combine entertainment with an overriding educational theme, form the basis of why Modhesh Fun City is considered the largest and the most successful edutainment venue in the region."
The 25-minute live stunt action show at MFC features an animated show on a big screen in addition to dazzling light and sound effects.
The show features the characters Ben Tennyson, Four Arms, Wild Mutt, and two stunt performers.
Children also get to meet Ben Tennyson and other characters after each show. The Ben 10 show is free to all MFC visitors and runs till August 7.
Housed at the Airport Expo in Dubai, MFC is open to from 10am to 10pm Saturday to Wednesday. On Thursdays and Fridays it remains open till midnight. Entry fee is Dh20.
Raffles' winners announced
Winners of the fourth Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) weekly raffle were announced recently at Ibn Battuta Mall as part of the DSS 2008 festivities.
With only five more raffles to go, the occasion marked the halfway mark for the DSMG promotion in DSS 2008.
The winners of the Dh100,000 cash prize were Ihab Amia from Jordan, Imran Nawab from India, Jawad Wehbi from Lebanon, Salam Al Shaksi from Oman and Asma Mumtaz from Pakistan.
The DSMG promotion comprises nine weekly draws of Dh500,000 with five shoppers standing a chance to win Dh100,000 each week.
Shoppers who make a minimum purchase of Dh200 will automatically receive raffle coupons and be eligible to enter the competition.
Balloon Fiesta: Fun in the air
Mercato Shopping Mall recently held a three day Balloon Fiesta where elaborate balloon creations were displayed and demonstrations held as part of the DSS 2008 activities.
Hundreds of colourful balloons adorned the mall through various balloon sculptures reflecting DSS and other themes.
Children were thrilled with the dog, sword, flower and giraffe balloon shapes that were available.
