The Ajman Free Zone's main objective is to meet investor needs and facilitate business activity.
Ajman Free Zone offers all the benefits found in the other free zones while providing investors with a major cost advantage. Says Ahmad Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Free Zone Authority (AFZA), "Ajman Free Zone also offers stability through an available 20-year contract. These incentives have led to a phenomenal growth in the size of the Ajman Free Zone in the past year, as investors have been keen to take advantage of the opportunities the Ajman Free Zone offers."
Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) was established in 1988 and given renewed impetus with the setting up of the AFZA. It resulted in a quadruple growth in the number of companies within AFZ during the last few years. With its package of unbeatable advantages, AFZ is widely recognised as an entrepreneur's haven today.
"Our objective is to meet our investors' needs by facilitating business activity and providing a pro-business milieu that places a premium on the opportunity for foreign investment. AFZ is undergoing a massive development plan. When completed, the free zone will be able to accommodate 1,500 companies. Two new office blocks are coming up in the free zone that will offer modern, world-class infrastructure.
Existing benefits of AFZ that proclaims itself as one that "makes things happen", include the lowest tariffs in the region, lowest lease prices, total elimination of all service charges and hidden fees and low handling charges. The official website and brochure of AFZA provides all the advantages and benefits of setting up a company in AFZ and promises to issue a licence within one working day if all conditions are met. "The needs of small-to mid-sized businesses are given particular attention, and no effort is spared to facilitate cooperation with foreign firms," says Al Nuaimi.
In addition to the airports and seaports of neighbouring emirates such as Sharjah and Dubai, the Ajman Port, that serves over 1,000 vessels in a year, aids in the progress of AFZ and has emerged as an important maritime focal point today. The port has 12 berths and is undergoing a massive development plan which seeks to enhance its facilities to world-class standards in the near future.
