When you look back on 2008 in retrospect, Libra, you'll recognise it as having been the year during which so much in your life changed. Perhaps the biggest change, however, will be your perspective on life itself.
It's for this reason that, as you're living out the days and weeks and months of the year, you could regard what you're facing — and contending with — as disruptive, confusing or even at times disappointing. However, in many cases, that's because you'll be letting go of an old perspective but won't necessarily have a new one yet.
With Jupiter, the planet of growth and opportunity, positioned in the part of your chart that has to do with the structure of your life, where and how you live and what you consider to be secure, you've an entirely new way of looking at on exactly such matters — your domestic set up, family and what family means to you, and what you want in your home life.
You may have thought you knew exactly what your feelings were about each of these. But because this year is about dramatic changes and a fresh perspective, events are likely to make you realise that some of the things you've simply accepted as being true are longer applicable to you and that, in fact, these preferences — or even what you've considered to be ideals — are really much more the feelings of others, of family or partners, friends or associates.
These realisations come gradually. During the year, in fact, you'll talk things over and reflect on them yourself. Some of these reflections will be triggered by the arrival of the planet of truth itself, Pluto, in the part of your chart that accents exactly these matters, in late January. Pluto remains there until June, then it makes a temporary departure, to return there again in the final months of the year, for a very long stay.
Because Pluto is about the kind of truth that goes deep and that enables you to root out deceptions, especially those that could be restrictive or result in some sort of blind spot, what takes place during the first half of the year, during Pluto's first visit there, could often seem puzzling but will, ultimately, also prove to be amazingly illuminating.
Being a Libra and someone who's concerned about the way in which what you do influences others and impacts on their lives, you could worry that, as your perspective changes, you'll upset important relationships.
However, because Pluto's one of the most powerful planets in the zodiac, as it changes signs this year, the resulting changes in the world around you influence others, as well. And so they, too, will be thinking of things differently and they'll need to make changes in their own lives.
For this reason, not only are the changes you're making important and helpful, if you discuss them with others in depth, then you can work together, both to deal with the events that arise and discuss the resulting changes.
You'll also find that you'll be asking yourself questions about exactly what makes you happy. Here, again, you may have thought you were sure about this. But judging by eclipses in February and August, which actually accent these parts of your chart and result in a sort of shake-up, either changes in circumstance will raise questions about such matters or you'll have profound insights which make you realise that those things that you've put first are no longer as important as they once were.
Here, again, you won't necessarily be making the changes involved during 2008 itself. Rather, you'll simply be gaining insights that will enable you to realise changes re vital, and because of that, you'll be in the mood to explore options that, previously, you wouldn't have regarded as of interest. Similarly, with those around you changing, you'll often find that you want to discuss and explore these together.
Pluto's also the planet of truth and because of this, frank discussions with others are likely to lead to a new understanding, a new harmony and a new trust.
Of course, trust doesn't come overnight, but must be built in time. However, because you have the year of 2008 to work on this, you'll find that with each passing month there's a new understanding and a new, deeper, accord with others.
Ultimately, therefore, the year will be about restructuring your life, your home, your goals and your point of view.
True, at times circumstances may take place which force you to surrender to changes. But as you learn more, you'll realise that, often these are actually an opportunity to learn something about yourself, really, an opportunity in disguise. In fact, it is such occurrences that will lead to this year being the year of discovery, of revolution and of rebirth that it is.
Keep this in mind as you live out its months, and as you grow and learn you'll recognise its dramatic developments for what they are and, better yet, will also enjoy what each one of its events adds to your life.
