Dubai: World No 6 Andy Roddick of the US admitted to amicably parting ways with his legendary coach Jimmy Connors.
"It is sad, but we decided on an amicable parting past week," Roddick confirmed after his victory over Rafael Nadal yesterday.
"He [Jimmy Connors] gave me so much both on and off the court, and I understand that it was tough for him to be there for me all the time. I am thankful for all that he did for me and my game," he added.
The 25-year-old Roddick and Connors got together in July 2006 after the French Open.
He continues to be coached by his brother John and also works with former ATP trainer Doug Spreen. "For the moment it is just John, Doug and I," Roddick confirmed.
