Dubai: Shadwell will once again sponsor the feature race at today's rescheduled Jebel Ali race meeting, the Kingwood House Stables over a mile.

The meeting called off last week after the sad demise of late Shaikh Rashid Bin Ahmad Al Mualla.

Shadwell is owned by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance. Marcus Tregoning trains from the Lambourn training establishment.

The feature race has attracted a quality entry with Sheikh Hamdan's Great Plains heading the weights but overlooked by his retained jockey, Richard Hills, who rides the Doug Watson-trained Mostashaar who is returning from a long lay-off. Watson said: "He will come on for the run but is ready for an outing and hopefully will go on the dirt."

Dhruba Selvaratnam, who trains on the track, saddles Mulaqat who could go close but the trainer looks more likely to have a winner with Alo Pura who will be hard to beat in the following 1,600 metres handicap which is confined to fillies and mares.

She will be ridden by Willie Supple who said: "She won well last time but has been penalised severely for that win. Hopefully the step up in trip can bring about the necessary improvement."

South African trainer Mike De Kock returns to Jebel Ali action and he saddles Musaytir in the concluding 1,000m handicap.
