Dubai: The three-player team of Ian Kelly (14), Gordon Inkson (5) and Steve Younger (10) scored 72 stableford points to win the May Lexus Golf Day at Arabian Ranches Golf Club on Friday.
The team's card contained nines of 33 and 39 against a strict par equivalent of 56 points. Highlights of the 16-under par round included an eight pointer on hole 14 and six pointers on holes 6 and 15.
The format of the day was the best 2 from 3 scores on the par 4's and the best score on the par 3's and 5's with full handicap allowance.
Others winning prizes included the team led by Garry Henry (12) with 68 points, narrowly edging out the Andy Brady (7)-led team on a back nine countback - 35 to 33. Elliott Gray, golf operations manager at Arabian Ranches Golf Club, said: "We applaud the Kelly-captained team for winning."
