Dubai: The appointment of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Dubai Crown Prince was welcomed on Saturday in the sporting fraternity.
Senior sports administrators felt that with Hamdan, who is also the Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, will give a major push to the development of sports and youth in the country.
Sultan Saqr Al Suwaidi, a Federal National Council member and former Secretary General of the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare (GAYSW), said that it was an excellent decision by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
“Like father, like son. Shaikh Hamdan has learnt a lot from him: efficiency, firmness, courage, prowess, prudence and determination,” Sultan Saqr told Gulf News on Saturday.
