Dubai: Al Nasr have signed with two Emirati players from Al Jazira club. Midfielder Yousuf Abdul Aziz and defender Adil Nasib, will be defending the Al Nasr colours in the professional league next season.
During the past few weeks Al Nasr have signed with a number of Emirati players to strengthen their team in preparation for the new season when the professional league will kick off for the first time in UAE soccer history.
Yousuf Abdul Aziz and Adil Nasib signed for Al Nasr in an exchange deal. Al Nasr released young left back Abdullah Mousa and right wingback Khalid Sebil to Al Jazira.
The signing of Nasib and Abdul Aziz satisfied the Al Nasr supporters who were not happy with some of the club's signings in recent weeks. Al Nasr signed with UAE former skipper Mohammad Omar who has previously played for four clubs - Al Wasl, Al Ain, Al Jazira and Al Dhafra.
They also signed with Tariq Bilal from Al Khaleej, Salim Zayed of Al Dhafra, Dahi Khalifa and Naser Masoud of Hatta. The Al Ahli goalkeeper Abdullah Musa also signed for Al Nasr in an exchange deal. Al Nasr exchanged the goalkeeper for midfielder Salah Abbas who didn't play with Al Nasr last season.
Upset fans
Salah will join his brother Ali Abbas who signed for Al Ahli last year for a Dh3 million. That deal made the Al Nasr supporters angry, due to the fine form Ali was showing with Al Nasr before he moved to Al Ahli.
Many of the Al Nasr players were released to join other clubs, many of whom had played for the club for years, such as Qazim Ali, Yousuf Musa, Mussalam Ahmad, Adnan Hussain, Dawood Saleh, Khalid Sebil, Abdullah Musa, and Walid Murad in addition to Salah Abbas.
Al Nasr last won the league title in the 1985-1986 season and will be looking to clinch the professional league title for the first time next season.
They strengthened their squad by signing with Iranian strikers Redha Enayati and Mehrzad Maadanchi. And due to the poor form of their defence line in last season's league, they will also be looking out for a foreign defender who could be an Iranian as the team coach Luka Bonacic looks in that direction.
