Dubai: The ICC Board meeting on Wednesday decided that the 2009 Champions Trophy will be held from September 24. "The finals will to be held on October 4 with a reserve day on October 5," ICC Chief Executive Officer Haroon Lorgat announced.

Lorgat also said that Pakistan will remain as the venue, subject to a security review during or after India's tour of Pakistan in January.

"It was further agreed that because the event was reduced in duration (12 days including a reserve day for the final instead of the 17 days set aside in 2008) it would be played in one city," he said.

The tournament has a new format with eight teams playing in a short, sharp event.
