Dubai:  Former Test captains Mohammad Azharuddin of India and Javed Miandad of Pakistan will play in a Twenty20 tournament in the United States.

The prize money for the victorious team will be $75,000.

"With an objective to promote cricket at the grass-roots level in America, the Cricket Council of America (CCA) has decided to stage a Twenty20 tournament in Florida from May 23 to 25," Nadeem Yousuf, vice president of cricket development of the CCA, told Gulf News.

Pakistan All Star, West Indies All Star, Canada All Star and World XI All Star are the four participating teams.

"Miandad will lead the Pakistan team while Azharuddin will captain the World XI. The West Indies XI is being led by Richie Richardson," said Yousuf, who was a former Pakistan first-class cricketer and played domestic cricket in UAE.
