Gaza City: Israeli troops killed at least two Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip on Thursday.

The move comes a day after rejecting an unofficial truce offer from Hamas.

A spokesman for the Israeli military said soldiers operating in central Gaza shot two approaching gunmen.

The Popular Resistance Committees and Islamic Jihad have announced that one of their men each have been killed.

Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh made offer of a truce through an Israeli TV reporter.
