Amman: Iraq’s ambassador to Jordan said on Friday that Iraq is sending planes and buses to bring home hundreds of Iraqis who fled to Jordan after the US-led war in 2003.

Saad Al Hayyani said 520 Iraqis asked for "help to return" after security improvements in Iraq. Some had sought asylum in Jordan while others are registered as refugees.

Al Hayyani says no one is being "forced" to return. Groups will start leaving in September.

At least 700,000 Iraqis have sought refuge in Jordan.
