Zayed the leader, the wise and father of the nation remains with us because he departed from our world in his form only, while his soul, wisdom and achievements remain forever.
We pray to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in peace as we commemorate the first death anniversary of Shaikh Zayed: the father who loved his sons and people, and devoted his life to the service of his nation. Today, our belief in God's will and destiny gets mixed with our pride, admiration and respect for Shaikh Zayed who was honoured with his people's love, both in his life and after his death. God honoured Shaikh Zayed in his death by placing his name among immortal leaders and peacemakers, with a reputation of being a symbol of good deeds that benefit people. With the sunshine of every new day, we wake up feeling that Shaikh Zayed remains with us. He will be remembered forever as his good deeds and great achievements stand as evidence of his rich legacy. We feel that Shaikh Zayed's soul remains among us. His picture, methods and legacy live with us every day. We feel he always shadows us with his ideas and thoughts that provide us with determination and optimism. We sense him speaking in his warm and tender voice, encouraging us to work, do good deeds and look for glory. When we are alone with ourselves, Shaikh Zayed shares the isolation. After one year, or tens of years and forever, Shaikh Zayed's memory, life and way of life will remain immortal in history and among mankind. He will remain alive in our hearts not because of his great achievements as a veteran leader, builder and founder who carried his Arab and Islamic nation in his heart, but also because he enjoyed the same morals of the noble ancestors. Shaikh Zayed is one of the rare leaders whom leadership, fortune, achievements and prestige had not spoilt. In fact, it strengthened his belief in God and inspired him to follow in the footsteps of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in loving people and helping the needy, and being a kind-hearted, gentle, soft-spoken, decent and pure man. The presence of his deeds and achievements among us reduces the pain of separation and the loss of Shaikh Zayed in his body. On this day, the Arab nation and the Islamic world miss Shaikh Zayed very much. They miss his voice of wisdom at a time when there is turmoil and a bold stance is missing. Issues are being confused and creative initiatives are no longer around. On the first anniversary of his death, we pray to God to rest Shaikh Zayed's soul in peace, promising to carry his legacy in our conscience and minds, and pass it on to our sons and grandsons and cultivate it as a fruitful plant that will benefit generations ahead. Oh master, the absent, the present. A surplus of generosity enriches us in your life and death. You have raised and rewarded our country and have set an example to the entire world. You honoured me so I have got two fathers, Rashid and Zayed, and there is no honour higher than this. Your image is still in my eyes Your voice still in my ears Your memory remains in my heart So, you are never gone May God rest your soul in eternal peace and bless you with his satisfaction and place you in paradise.
