With the UAE experiencing unusually hot weather, with temperatures hovering around the low to mid 40s Celsius to the low 50s inland, it is wise to remember to take precautions when outside. Simple measures such as covering the body with protective clothing are obvious and there should be no need of reminding people of them. Equally, people with fair skin should use sunscreen creams or lotions to avoid severe sun burn. However, what is often overlooked is the need to carry water when walking as the body quickly dehydrates in the temperatures the UAE is going through.

Labourers working in the open air know that they must take a few sips of water every so often, to replenish the liquids that the ambient temperature is exhausting. Similarly, if a person is out and about, and not used to being in the open, carrying water and sipping it occasionally will avert more serious consequences.
