Dubai: Police have reiterated their call to the public to avoid carrying large amounts of cash in a visible or tempting way and be extremely cautious.
The appeal comes after police arrested a gang of four men who attacked an Indian man and robbed Dh60,000 from him.
Dubai Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) received a report that a man was beaten and robbed when he was entering his house in the Al Garhoud area.
The victim was carrying the cash which belonged to his company and the suspects were able to rob him and flee with the money.
CID formed a team to follow up the complaint and arrest the suspects.
Police arrested four Asian suspects and recovered Dh48,570 from the gang. They confessed to the crime and were referred to the Public Prosecution.
