Dubai: Hundreds of people living in Dubai's Arabian Ranches community spent all of Saturday without running water.
Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (DEWA) battled all day to reconnect the area's water supply after it collapsed around 8am.
One angry resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told Gulf News it was the second time in a week Arabian Ranches, an Emaar property, had been without water.
He said: "We have been unable to wash or clean our teeth all day. This seems to be a regular occurrence and I shudder to think what might happen in the coming weeks."

He said: "There has been a problem with DEWA concerning the water supply at Arabian Ranches.
"Residents have been without water since 8am this [Saturday] morning but it should be connected by around 6pm.
Abdullah Al Hajri, Senior Manager of Corporate Communication and Occupational Health and Safety at DEWA, told Gulf News that customers were suffering because they were not abiding by DEWA's rules and regulations.
"Many residents of Arabian Ranches are not keeping water tanks in their homes. Therefore, when there is a shortage of water they are immediately suffering as a result."
