Dubai: A woman is seeking compensation from an ophthalmologist and the hospital where he works after she reportedly sustained sight impairment following botched eye surgery.
The Moroccan woman said after the Indian doctor operated on her she allegedly sustained sight impairment.
She lodged a civil lawsuit of Dh150,000 against the ophthalmologist and the hospital before the Dubai Civil Court.
She is seeking financial, medical and moral compensation for her damages, plus nine per cent legal interest.
The claimant attached medical reports to her lawsuit, which she obtained from the Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services, and which confirmed that her sight was impaired following the surgery.
The ophthalmologist and the hospital have dismissed the woman's claims and asked the Dubai Civil Court to reject her lawsuit. A verdict will be announced soon.
