Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Thursday inspected ministries and governmental departments in Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain.
Shaikh Mohammad was accompanied by Shaikh Rashid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Lieutenant General Mosabah Rashid Al Fattan, Director of Shaikh Mohammad's office, and other senior officials.
Shaikh Mohammad stressed that he and his cabinet are keen to steer all government departments away from excessive bureaucracy, which hinders the development of good governance.
Shaikh Mohammad expressed his satisfaction with the new procedures recently adopted by the Ministry of Interior. He also hailed the efforts of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, to further develop the ministry's human resources departments.
Later Shaikh Mohammad inspected the progress of construction of the new Umm Al Quwain Hospital.
Shaikh Mohammad also visited some patients in the old hospital.
He pledged to provide the hospital with all the necessary equipment and qualified staff.
Shaikh Mohammad proceeded to Ras Al Khaimah where he inspected the progress of construction of multipurpose halls, which he ordered to be built two years ago to provide the best leisure and entertainment facilities for the people.
Shaikh Mohammad's tour came to an end at the Ain Khat tourist area where he inspected facilities and services.
