Dubai: Reusable shopping bags are now cheaper to own. Carrefour has said the bags it used to sell as Dh2 bags are now available for Dh1 at all its stores in the region, with a commitment to reduce the use of plastic bags by the end of 2008.
Starting on Sunday, Carrefour, operated by Majid Al Futtaim, is running a 10-day promotion when shoppers will be able to purchase the bags at half the price.
If they become damaged they can be replaced at any Carrefour outlet free of charge.
