Dubai: Three people died and three others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in the past two days, police said.
A 48-year-old woman was killed when the car driven by her daughter overturned on Dubai-Al Ain Road. Police said the accident took place as a result of speeding.
S.T., who was driving the vehicle lost control of the wheel, and hit the road median and the vehicle flipped over several times. The woman was killed on the spot.
Bike collision
In another accident a 15-year-old boy was killed after being run over in Al Karama. G.M., a 28-year-old driver was said to be speeding. He hit the Arab boy who was trying to cross the road. The boy was killed on the spot.
Another man, an Asian, died in an accident near the Dubai Police Academy. The victim was speeding while riding his motorbike and not paying attention to the road. He hit the car in front of him and sustained serious injuries. He was airlifted to the hospital but died on the way.
Another accident occurred yesterday at the beginning of Muscat Road near the Dubai Country Club.
S.S. was driving a sewage tanker coming from Dubai-Al Ain Road. As a result of speeding and swerving suddenly, the tanker turned over and the driver along with his companion sustained moderate injuries.
The Dubai Police rescue team used hydraulic equipment to free them.
