Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has urged motorists buying Salik to give correct information in the forms to ensure smooth functioning of their Salik account.
The RTA's request came following several complaints from Salik users that they did not get SMS on the mobile phones for their Salik accounts.
"The SMS delays that occurred at the beginning of the launch of Salik were due to the large number of subscribers. Delays occurring now are due to inaccurate information written in the application form such as wrong mobile and vehicle numbers and registering more than one car in the same application," said Engineer Salah Mohammad Al Marzouqi, Director of Intelligent Traffic Systems Manager.
He said the RTA has received a lot of application forms without mobile numbers and sometimes wrong numbers.
