Dubai: Public sector employees will get a four-day holiday for Eid Al Fitr if the first day of Eid falls on Friday, October 12, according to a ministerial decision.
The Ministry of Governmental Sector Development announced in a circular issued on Sunday that if Eid falls on Friday, October 12, work will resume on Monday, October 15.
However, if Eid falls on Saturday, October 13, government employees will get a five-day holiday, and work will resume on Tuesday, October 16.
The circular was issued by Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Governmental Sector Development.
The Ministry of Labour also issued a circular announcing that private sector employees will get Eid holiday on the first and second days of the lunar month of Shawwal (first day of Eid).
The Ministry earlier issued a circular stating that Thursday will also be a public sector holiday.
The ministry, on behalf of all employees and workers of the federal ministries and departments, extended their congratulations to His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
