Abu Dhabi: The Red Crescent Authority in Abu Dhabi will set-up tents to serve iftar meals in 64 locations in Abu Dhabi, including Al Ain and the western region, said Khalifa Naser Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA).
Mohammad Ebrahim Al Hammadi, Deputy Secretary of Red Crescent Administrative and Financial Affairs, said the number of institutions in the UAE involved in charitable activities has increased. "etisalat will give 3,300 iftar meals daily in 11 locations all over the UAE. About 200 meals will be served to the needy families. Cassel Hotel will give 30,000 iftar meals to the needy during the month," he said.
An etisalat spokesperson told Gulf News that among the 11 tents, two big tents will be set up in Abu Dhabi.
"Apart from that, 2,000 meal boxes will be given to the needy families. Beneficiaries will be identified by the Red Crescent," he said.
Several private companies in Abu Dhabi also told Gulf News that they are planning various charitable activities during Ramadan such as giving flight tickets and iftar meals. An official of a company situated at Najda Street said they are planning to help needy amnesty seekers but do not want to publicise it.
