French warn Khomeini

The French government officially warned Iran's opposition leader Ayatullah Khomeini for the third time to stop preaching violent revolution in his country as long as remains on French territory.

Khomani has ignored two previous similar warning, calling on his followers to revolt against the Shah, while urging Iranian workers to strike and soldiers to mutiny.

Oil exporters call for control of production

The Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting countries (OAPEC) called for the world's major oil exporters to control the quantity of the product available as well as its price.

OAPEC said oil prices were likely to be pushed down if consumers were allowed to determine the level of oil production. OAPEC said that with increasing supplies of non-Opec oil and the rapid build-up of stockpiles, the importing states would be able to bring about severe seasonal fluctuations in Opec production.

Arms seized in embassy

Bulgarian Ambassador to Egypt Georgi Vladikov said his government was sure to sever diplomatic relations with Egypt following what he called an invasion of the Cairo Embassy by Egyptian security forces.

The Bulgarian Embassy was occupied by Egyptian riot police, following an incident in which Egypt alleged three Egyptian women were beaten up by members of the Embassy staff.

Euro-cash - Britain holds back

British Prime Minister James Callaghan has advised other Common Market leaders he will vote for the new European Monetary System. But Britain will not fully take part at first, German government sources said.

Callaghan, attending the European summit conference in Brussels, has told other government heads by letter that his country will not be ready to join the system on its planned January 1, 1979 starting date.
