Beijing: The Olympic Games’ governing body has said it will consider the future of the remaining part of the torch relay in the light of persistent international anti-Chinese protests.

International Olympic Committee (IOC) chief Jacques Rogge said the board would consider their options on Friday.

Asked whether the continuation of the international relay was certain, Rogge said: "I'm not saying whether it is certain or not. There will be a discussion of the executive board on the torch relay but I attach on that absolutely no speculation whatsoever."

The relay has been disrupted in Greece, Turkey, London and Paris and there is concern the US leg will face similar protests.

Earlier, seven-pro Tibet demonstrators were arrested in San Francisco after tying anti-Chinese banners to the Golden Gate Bridge.
