Tribal leaders of the UAE congratulate the country, its leaders and people on the creditable list of achievements

Tribal leaders have called on the younger generation to benefit from the lessons of the UAE federation and to work harder in highlighting the great achievements made by the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan.

The leaders also urged the public and private sector organisations to play a more active role in marking the UAE National Day.

"The achievements of the federation under Shaikh Zayed in a short span of time speak for themselves and will remain historic landmarks," says Ali Saeed Al Dahmani, Chief of the remote area of Al Munaei, adding that Shaikh Zayed's idea of the Federation is an inspiring model for Emiratis.

"Shaikh Zayed had dedicated his entire life for the welfare of his people and achieved the impossible. He defeated the creeping desert."

Al Dahmani says public departments, the private sector and all other organisations should join forces and exert a combined effort in marking the National Day to deliver a message that the UAE will never forget its great leaders who built this modern state and had such a great influence on their people.

"The Federation has tremendously influenced the lives of the Emiratis in all aspects and there is a dramatic change of life style and living standards," he says.

"The pre-federation way of life can never be compared to what people began to enjoy since December 2, 1971. It marked a new history in the entire region."

Musabah Al Qaydi, Chief of the remote area of Kadra says, "Wherever you look in the UAE, it reminds you of the great leaders who announced the establishment of the Federation. It is the fruit of their hard work and dedication.

"Shaikh Zayed has truly achieved the impossible and helped raise the UAE to a world-class tourist destination, as tourists from around the globe come here even in the hot and humid summer," he says with pride.

When it comes to challenges, the sand of the desert testifies that the impossible had been accomplished in the UAE under the wise leadership of the late Shaikh Zayed.

"The entire world considers the UAE as one of the developed countries, as this 36-year-old state has caught up with the rest of the developed world," he says.

Al Qaydi adds that all credit goes directly to Shaikh Zayed who had worked hard and dedicated his entire life to achieve progress and prosperity that the UAE enjoys now.

Saeed Musabah, Chief of the remote area of Shoukah, says that even after the sad demise of Shaikh Zayed, the progress of the UAE has always been on the ascent, specially since President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has continued his father's pace.

"The UAE is churning out one success story after the and is on its way to achieve its strategic goals on local, regional and international levels," he says, adding that Emiratis are loyal to the philosophy and plans of the Federation and will follow the steps of their 'father', Shaikh Zayed, whose great contributions to the UAE will always be remembered.

"The Emiratis know in the bottom of their hearts that the UAE is the only successful Arab federation. Their current and future challenge will be the protection and promotion of this model," he says.

"Only then will the Emiratis be able to introduce the UAE identity to the entire world as the children of a land which enjoys peace and tranquillity," he says.
