Karachi: Indian coach Greg Chappell looked unaffected by the situation at the end of the day. Stern as ever, he strongly believes that India has the batting strength to chase any big total. However, like a shrewd coach, he was not willing to commit on whether India could win the Test.
GULF NEWS: Do you think it is possible to chase a target of over 500 runs?
CHAPPELL: It is possible. Whether it is probable or not we will have to wait and see.
What will be the target they are likely to set for India?
I am not the Pakistan captain (smiles). I don't think I should think about it.
But what do you think could be their strategy under this situation?
They have time on their hands. It is for them to decide when they want to stop batting.
Do you think your bowlers bowled badly to be in such a situation?
No. There was no help from the wicket. There was no seam or spin on the wicket. I am happy that nobody dropped their heads but tried their best under the situation.
Don't you think your team is in an uncomfortable position?
Our batsmen need to adapt to the situation. They all have played well before. I only hope our batsmen too utilise the situation very well.
But don't you think Indian batsmen could be affected by the pressure of having to chase over 500 runs?
They need to keep their mind strong. They should deal with the situation as it stands.
So you believe that the wicket is a good one?
Yes, it is a very good wicket. Fast bowlers could make the difference. They have good pacers.
What do you think will be the final outcome?
There is a possibility we can save this Test.
