Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and his ministerial colleague M.V. Raghavan yesterday dumped the findings of the exit polls conducted in the state which give a clear edge to the Left Democratic Front. Exit polls after the first phase of polling have given a clear advantage to the opposition, with at least one television channel stating that the opposition was likely to win more than 40 of the 59 constituencies that went to the polls on April 22. "The exit polls were conducted with some motives and they cannot be trusted. Some people are trying to influence the polls with these exit poll findings," Chandy said yesterday while interacting with media persons in Thrissur.
Minister and leader of the Communist Marxist Party M.V. Raghavan said exit polls were unscientific and that they could not be trusted. "I know some of those who conduct the polls. My opinion is that these polls should not be allowed," he said.
