Dubai: The strong growth of the UAE's advertising industry reflects the country's economic growth in both the public and private sectors said a top government official. Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, told top advertising industry officials the UAE's economy is flourishing and so is the private sector. He said he hoped that the 40th International Advertising Association World Cong-ress which is underway would be a big success. The minister made his comments during the reception held on Sunday at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel to mark the naming of Joseph Gassoub as President of the International Advertising Association. The reception was attended by a large number of VIPs, media personnel and advertising experts from international companies.
Gassoub praised the UAE for extending its support to this industry in which he has worked for many years. "We had about 200 persons when we started in the UAE. Now there are more than 25,000 persons," he said.
