The Lebanese government decided late on Thursday that it will request a six month extension on the United Nations investigation into the assassination of former Lebanese premier Rafik Hariri. Deputy Premier and defence minister Elias Murr told reporters that an announcement would be made on Friday. The investigation - which began in mid-June - has been mandated by the UN for December 15. The UN is due to question Syrian officials from 5 December to 7 December UN Undersecretary-General for Political Affairs Ibrahim Gambari.
