Dubai: Internationally-renowned musician Vanessa Mae is scheduled to perform to an audience of around 55,000 racegoers at the Dubai World Cup ceremony to be held on March 29.

Her performance will come before the main event, when a racehorse’s story from birth to its crossing of the finish line will be acted out by some of the world’s finest artists against the backdrop of a light and laser show.

In addition, the violinist has provided an original music score for the show.

The performance, produced by Prisme International is scheduled to start at 7.05pm.

The Dubai World Cup will see some of the world’s best horses compete for a slice of the $US21.25 million prize money on offer.
