Allison Amour and Elise Baverel will attempt to drive to Paris from Dubai in a Mini Cooper in 12 days. But the adventure will only become a reality if the determined friends can raise Dh29,000 in sponsorship. The girls hope to leave either on June 18 or 25. They say the trip is a bid to strengthen ties between the Middle East and Europe. "We are still looking for sponsors: adventurous companies, people who will trust our project and our values," they said. Lancel has already jumped on board with the opportunity to have its name plastered across the countries the girls will travel through. But more funds are needed. Allison, 24, a marketing executive for Schneider in Dubai, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for us but also for companies and businesses in the Middle east to join forces with companies across Europe."
"We plan to make a splash in both the UAE and French media."
