Dubai: The top-seeded pairing of Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic carved out a hard-fought 2-6, 7-6 (5), 1-0 (6) win against the Indo-Pak pairing of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi to book a place in the doubles semifinals.

Nestor and Zimonjic must have never expected this pairing to give them a run for their money. But they realised this quickly as Qureshi and Bopanna took the first set easily 6-2.

Nestor and Zimonjic, who are currently at number 12 in the Stanford ATP doubles race, did well to take the second set through the tie-break to force the super tie-break that they ultimately won 10-6.

The top-seeded pair will now meet third seeds Martin Damm and Pavel Vizner in the semifinals today.

Feliciano Lopez and Rafael Nadal were to play fourth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles to see who would earn the right to play Simon Aspelin and Julian Knowle in the second semi.
