People of all ages enjoyed five seconds of fame as they autographed a giant yellow inflatable tennis ball for charity.

Free to sign, more than 2,000 people had already put marker pen to ball by the final of the WTA tour on Saturday.

Better still, for every signature recorded, Barclays has vowed to donate Dh5 to the Dubai Duty Free Foundation which helps children's charities across the UAE and the world.

Participants sign the ball before filing in a coupon which could win them complimentary tickets to this year's Wimbledon finals.

The competition started at 10am on Sunday, February 24 and the last signature can be written at 9.30pm on Saturday, March 8. The draw will be made at 10am on Sunday, March 16, and the result will be printed in Gulf News on Tuesday March 18.

The prize is membership into the Gatsby Club at Wimbledon for one day including VIP hospitality as well as two reserved seats for either the men's or women's final.

The ball is located on the edge of Century Village, adjacent to tennis courts two, three and four.
