The leading ladies from the tennis world enjoyed a taste of Dubai at a lavish open air players' party this week. And while it was obvious the players were sticking religiously to the H20, the rest of the crowd had a ball.

Justine Henin, Amelie Mauresmo, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Ana Ivanovic were just a few of the faces who attended the event which was hosted by Dubai Duty Free at the Aviation Club on Tuesday.

A successful welcome
International cuisine and entertainment from around the region kept the stars busy and contributed to a successful "welcome to Dubai".

The players had the chance to get up close and personal with a camel, have a go at belly dancing, salsa and latino dancing, as well as hold a kestrel.

Tournament director Salah Tahlak welcomed the players, coaches, families, trainers and press to the event, and urged everyone to enjoy the evening.

The players were clearly in good spirits as they mingled with locals including Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free Colm McLoughlin and Marketing Manager Sinead El Sibai.

Sporty look
Most of the players opted for the sporty look in their tracksuits and trainers while the media, player guests and VIPs went for a more glamorous approach.

A slight-of-hand magician quietly made his way around the tables where players, their families, coaches, trainers, sponsors and members of the press enjoyed the food and conversation.

Many of the players made an early exit after enjoying the atmosphere in preparation for their big games coming up over the next three days.
