Thai businessman Thananop Yatasaeng is certainly reaping the fruits of his labour with his stall at this year's Dubai Shopping Festival.

The 37 year old said he was astounded by the amount of business he had already done at the Global Village.
He said: "I am amazed by the amount of people who are buying fruit from me. It's wonderful. The atmosphere is very nice and everybody is getting into the spirit of the festival."

His first time in Dubai, Thananop was completely surrounded by customers at his stall in the Thailand pavilion.
He said: "The Dubai Shopping Festival has become very well-known all over the world. It's great to meet people from many different countries.

"I like the country very much from what I have seen."

Family business

But it wasn't only fresh fruit on offer in Thailand. Toffee Korndilok and Sira Nu, both 35, were doing a storming trade just across the street with their dried fruit products.

Toffee said: "This is our family business and we have been coming to the DSF for many years. It's such a great place and it's good to meet people from all walks of life.

"Dried fruit is very popular in Thailand and it is very good for you. Sometimes you fancy a change from fresh fruit."
Toffee took the time to explain what was on offer to a few passersby and the selection was varied with tamerine, pineapple, banana, mango and much more.

Thananop's business, SST Import and Export, has been running for seven years in his home city Bangkok.

Tropical flavours

People of all ages were selecting fruit from his stall as he effortlessly peeled and sliced in the background as items were bought.

With guava, jack fruit, star fruit, mangosteen, dragonfruit, red rose apples, durian, monkey nuts and much more on offer, it's no surprise that people were drawn to the stall.

The colours were almost flowing from the wicker baskets on the sides.

He added: "I am pleased to be here and I am excited about seeing more of Dubai and meeting the people."
