Not going anywhere this season? Don't worry, there's plenty to do right here in Dubai. We give you a glimpse of what to expect during Dubai Shopping Festival 2006-2007.
The many faces of DSF
* World Cultures Festival — including the Carpet Oasis at Airport Expo and the Bazaars of the World on Al Seef Street. Until February 9.
* Family Entertainment Festival — offering a slew of events never witnessed in the region before including the internationally acclaimed act Quidam by Cirque du Soleil. Plus fireworks, fun fairs and more. Until February 18.
* Arts and Cultural Festivals — encompasses a raft of artistic and cultural presentations in a bid to keep alive traditional events and rekindle their popularity in contemporary times. Until February 2.
* Musical Festivals — music lovers have a lot to look forward to this DSF with an exclusive Musical Festival offering traditional Oriental and Western musical treats.
* Dubai Carnival Festivals — an enriching experience awaits you at the Global Village at 7.30pm daily where the Scenes of the World are staged.
* Dubai Fashion Festival — fashion aficionados will have a field day with a dedicated Dubai Fashion Festival this time round. January 8-12 and January 18 - February 1.
* Sports Festival — offers a host of traditional and modern sports to attract sports lovers.
* World Food Festival — food connoisseurs will have no reason to complain as the DSF Food Festival offers them some delectable treats. January 13-19.
* Record Breaking Festival — an exclusive Record Breaking Festival comes especially for those with a penchant for records and a soft spot for the Guinness Book. January 30 to February 1.
* Heritage Festival — treasuring the past with a series of events that will continue until February 2.
* Shopping Malls Festival — takes off at 5pm each day and will host a number of shows until 10pm. The Fringe Festival travels to different malls around town.
* Raffles and Winnings Festival — shopping during the DSF comes with rich rewards.
* Exhibitions and Conferences — including conferences such as the Wellbeing Show on January 18, Intersec 2007 on January 21 and Arab Health Exhibition and Congress on January 29 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
