Mercato and its sister mall Town Centre, both in Jumeirah, Dubai, will be a patron of Dubai Shopping Festival 2006 (DSF).

The patronage marks eleven years of Al Zarooni Group of Companies' (both centres belong to the group) support of the shopfest.

Raida Al Khoury, PR and corporate communications manager, Mercato and Town Centre, said the two malls had come to be associated with some of the most exciting promotions and events held during DSF and promised the same this year.

The two malls will hold a joint shopping promotion: Be a Celebrity For A Week. Running through the shopfest, the promotion is open to all shoppers who spend Dh200 at either mall.

"One lucky couple stand to win the red carpet treatment. A symbolic 'Oscar', a designer clothes' shopping bonanza guided by a personal shopper, vouchers for pampering treatments from Feet First, Nail Station and Kaya, and an array of expensive gifts."

"They will fly Business class to Seychelles and spend a glamorous week on a yacht. There will also be celebrity-style photo shoots, complete with a mock-paparazzi experience," Raida said.

The second prize also offers a week's holiday in Seychelles for a couple. But this time, the couple will fly Economy and stay at the Plantation Club on the island of Mahe.

The Grand Prize lucky shopper will get a new BMW X5.

Mercato has also announced a special 'Spend-2-Win' promotion, sponsored by Damas and running at the shops located at Porto Vecchio Village.

Every visitor who spends Dh200 at any Porto Vecchio Village store stands to win a Dh25,000 gold & diamond set every week, again based on a draw.

Both malls have also planned several events including daily performances.

Mercato will also host a traditional Punch and Judy show.
