Dubai: Individuals and corporations who wish to contribute to the Dubai Cares campaign can do so through a secure and reliable online donation facility set up by e-TQM College.
The college hosted a fundraising event at their premises on Wednesday as part of a shared effort in supporting the Dubai Cares campaign. It aimed to contribute to the campaign by hosting the event and through donations raised by faculty, staff and students.
Dubai Cares, which was launched under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aims to educate more than a million children worldwide by raising donations across Dubai. Dubai Cares will support children's primary education in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Creative
The college officially launched the college's online donation portal to facilitate the online payment of donations through Dubai e-Government's e Pay gateway.
Individuals and corporations who wish to donate to the campaign may do so by going to the website, www.etqm.ae/etqmcollegecares and clicking on the donate online section.
Dr Abdullah Al Karam, Chairman of the board of directors and Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, said: "The activities hosted by e-TQM College are creative.
New opportunities
"It has created new opportunities for the campaign. One of these activities is launching the e-Portal, which is a website that allow the e-TQM international partners to donate and contribute to the Dubai Cares campaign."
He said this widens the scope of the campaign to become global rather than just local through the use of the internet.
"This humanitarian campaign has revealed so many creative ideas of the students and educational entities, especially when it comes to helping their peers in developing country. This mirrors the commitment to humanity that Dubai society has, regardless of the diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds it is made up of," Dr Al Karam said.
Dr Mansoor Al Awar, Vice-President of e-TQM College said: "The college, its staff, faculty and students plan to work on generating awareness among our people and spread the campaign to our international partners and affiliations as part of our commitment to enhancing the levels of humanity, knowledge and education in the region."
