Dubai's ports experienced some slow down in its operations, said officials. "Our number one priority is to serve the Dubai market related to delivery. "So wherever possible we went into the manual mode, in other areas such as the internal office systems we had back up power supply," said Jamal Majid Bin Theniyah, chief executive officer, Dubai Ports Authority (DPA). He said seaside operations were hit by the outage since the gantry cranes used to load and offload vessels are electrically operated. Ali Al Jallaf, director, Dubai Cargo Village, speaking to Gulf News from Milan said DCV is linked to Dubai airport's back up generators to keep basic systems running.
