This guy is so famous that he really needs no introduction but is simply known around the world as "That Juggler".

Born Ian Alfred George Marchant in the town of Bedford, England, he spends his time juggling pretty much anything he can get his hands on.

So get ready to duck because he's right now in the UAE, entertaining crowds at Sharjah and Ajman City Centre malls.
The show is suitable for the young and young at heart, and is guaranteed to have you mesmerised from the outset.

At first glance he looks like a pretty normal 28-year-old - 5ft 7in (1.7m), great smile and plenty of charisma. But then
there's his great act - talking with his audience, juggling with clubs, balls and rings, plate spinning with real plates,
bounce juggling, hat manipulation, uni-cycling and balancing.

So where did it all begin? tabloid! speaks exclusively to That Juggler.

Inspired

Marchant said: "In 1994, I saw two jugglers on The Paul Daniels Magic Show while having dinner at my Nan's house. I was so inspired to learn how to juggle that I went to the local juggling club and was taught the basics by a lady called Kate.

Then I took the rest into my own hands, for want of a better phrase!

"1996 brought my first performing job as a juggler and, with a friend, I formed a company providing entertainment for the
local nightclubs in Bedford and the surrounding area."

Marchant, who has performed in the UAE once before, said the crowds here are always pleased to see him.

He said: "Quite often I perform around the world and people watch for a while and then move on or simply catch what they can as they pass by. But in the UAE, people are much more appreciative of what I do and they actually stay to watch the entire show.

Some people have even asked when I will be on stage again so they can come back. It's a great place to be an
entertainer and there is nothing better than knowing an audience is enjoying the show."

Career highs

After a move to London, Marchant started a B-TEC course at The Circus Space, where he learnt the discipline and technique needed to become a better juggler and performer. He was taught by two of the world's leaders in the field, Sean Gandini and Rod Laver.

Having now worked for many theatre and circus companies, Marchant recalls his career highs.

"Juggling for Prince Harry and William was a great experience and William even let me know he thought I was 'awesome'," he said.

And the audience was clearly stunned as they watched in amazement at Marchant's first show last Sunday.

He added: "My wow factor juggle is definitely when I 'bounce juggle'. This means that I juggle in the air and then transfer
the clubs to the floor and back up again. It always gets a cheer and took me around six months to perfect."

Don't miss it

Juggler extraordinaire Ian Marchant will be performing around Sharjah City Centre mall from 5pm to 10pm today and also on Tuesday and Wednesday. You can also catch him at Ajman City Centre mall at the same time tomorrow and also on Thursday and Friday.
