Dubai: Visitors to Mall of the Emirates will be treated to a visual ecstasy with an electrifying ice circus and laser show throughout Ice Surprises Week organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa). The renowned Sergey Ryshkoff's Shangri-La Ice Circus has come Dubai this DSS for the first time. Named after the creative director of the show Sergey Ryshkoff, the circus has toured all over the world. "The circus is endorsed by Katerina Witt, former Olympic skating champion and entails an absolutely electrifying performance by the troupe. "The 24-member troupe consists of highly skilled dancers who perform thrilling acrobatics on the ice. Years of practice in circus and professional skating makes the performances by these artists truly amazing," the organisers said.
The troupe was the star attraction during the opening ceremony of the Ice Surprises Week at the mall on Wednesday. They performed amidst a packed audience of residents and visitors and high level dignitaries and officials. The show is being held at a specially created ice rink in the main Galleria area of Mall of the Emirates. It includes an eight-minute laser show incorporating logos and images from DSS. In addition to the ice circus and acrobatics, the performance also showcases nine set pieces of different skills such as high wire, juggling and ice dance.
