Dubai: Visitors to Dubai's malls have a chance to brush up on their art skills at a series of workshops held during Ice Surprises Week, which ends June 28.

Activities include the Penguin Workshop being held at BurJuman from 5.30 to 9.30pm throughout Ice Surprises.

Children participating have the chance to win some top prizes including cash. This workshop features drawing and painting competitions based on age-groups and a host of activities including face painting.

The Scientific Workshop is being held at Hamarain Centre between 5 and 10pm every day of Ice Surprises and will have a water and ice exhibition by performers from Moscow.

The performers will highlight different aspects of water and ice in nature. They will also tell the audience about the importance of water as a vital life source.

They will touch upon various aspects of water such as its use and conservation.

The information will be available both in Arabic and English.

An Ice Carving workshop will be held at Deira City Centre throughout the week from 6 to 9pm every day, with ice carving artists from various top notch hotels in Dubai displaying their skill.

There will also be a small workshop for children to teach them the basics of ice carving. All the participants of the workshop will be given certificates.

Reef mall hosts the Ice Discovery Workshop, which will be spread over three one hour sessions throughout the week from 5 to 6pm, 7.30 to 8.30pm and 9 to 10 pm, and the Ice Sculpture workshop in five sessions of 45 minutes each every day between 5 and 10pm.
