The sensational duo of Sri Lanka Bathiya & Santhush took to the stage on the February 15 at the Ice Rink of Al Nasr Leisureland. The show was titled Neththara Live in Dubai and also featured Ashanti, Randhir and Umara along with the famous and renowned Channa Upuli Dancers.
Blending
Bathiya & Santhush are a meeting of two different creative journeys. The magic behind the trademark BNS sound lies in the blending of the two musicians’ contrasting personalities and creative visions. They have toured in almost 20 countries and composed the Official Sri Lankan Cricket Anthem. BNS were also the winners of the Golden Clef Award for the Best Fusion Band in the Year 2002.
The hit song Mana Bandu by Bathiya & Santhush now features on Bobby Friction and Nihal’s Asian digital underground show on UK’s BBC Radio 1. Their new releases include the track Sawan, The Remix. The track is a remake of the Hindi hit song sung by the Late Indian contemporary artist Mukesh.
The song is currently receiving airplay nationwide. Similarly, they have also come out with an album called Ayubovan (in which the song Namaste features Sri Lankan cricketers like Jayasuriya and Chaminda Vaz).
Hits
Plus, there are various other songs that are a foray of hit Hindi song remixes from Bollywood. The duo has revolutionised Sri Lankan music over the last eight years and is now preparing to channel their creative energies in a whole new direction. Bathiya & Santhush are now venturing into a new field of fashion and are launching a clothing label called BNS.
