After the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) remarkable success in promoting traffic awareness at last year's DSF, they are seeking a repeat performance with this year's stand at Global Village.

Situated near the Chinese Village, the RTA stand is designed in the form of a quintessential traffic city that wholeheartedly welcomes visitors and distributes traffic awareness and safety rules among the public.

Live presentations

The stand features a series of live presentations on traffic safety with which visitors can interact and have all their traffic-related questions answered.

Al Mo'tasam Bellah Mohammad, RTA Traffic Awareness Director, said, "The RTA is keen to have a prominent presence at all events organised in the UAE, most prominent of which come those held at the Global Village which attracts millions of visitors every year from all over the world."

Safety

The stand showcases a bus that is used to educate children, via a series of videos. A special focus is being laid on the importance of using safety belts to save the lives of the drivers and passengers.

The stand also features a free service corner where the RTA distributes traffic awareness booklets among the visitors and RTA magazines in addition to car tyre testing devices.

"Visitors every day go away loaded with free gifts," said Al Mo'tasim, noting that up to one thousand guests of different ages visit the stand daily.

He accentuated the paramount importance of the RTA's presence in the Global Village, now a "main tourist attraction in Dubai that woos a huge number of visitors daily for up to 80 days.

"It is quite important to make full use of such get-togethers to update the public on traffic safety rules especially at a time road accidents are reaching an all- time high," he added.
